Premier poème cinématographique en allemand, dans la lignée des écrits de Léger, Desnos et Soupault, cet ouvrage avant-gardiste, ce scénario, et les illustrations cubistes de Fernand Léger, s'inspirent des premiers films muets de Charlie Chaplin.

- 4 FULL-PAGE CUBIST ILLUSTRATION BY FERNAND LEGER, printed in black. In excellent condition.

Illustrated with famous cubist portraits of “The Little Tramp” by Fernand Léger who would later develop the theme of a deconstructed Chaplin puppet in his avant-garde film Ballet Mécanique (1924).
The book is the first edition of Iwan Goll’s “cinepoem” based on the character of Charlie Chaplin. The French-German author was a distinguished bilingual poet with close ties to both Expressionism and Surrealism.
