Vivid and textural, loose brushstrokes of red yellow and black are drizzled and splattered artfully across the page. Far from plain abstraction, the forms intersect to create mesmerizing shapes and patterns. Using a minimal amount of color, Miro manages to create a dramatic and dazzling work. Of his color use, he has said “I try to apply colors like words that shape poems, like notes that shape music”. Truly, spontaneous workings of color in this work allow us to imagine a moving musical composition or a rousing poem.
