Shaggy rug, made of pure virgin wool, edited in 1968
The design of this rug does not have a poetic or abstract title like many of the artist's other works, but is technically identified in the world of collecting and art:
It is commonly referred to as “Miró - Fondation Maeght 1968.”
This is because the design is the exact textile transposition of the original poster created by Joan Miró for his important retrospective at the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, held in 1968.
The carpet version was mainly produced in the 1970s, often under license, to bring the artist's graphic art into a tactile and decorative form. The best-known manufacturer of these editions is the German company Ewald Kröner.
Carpet size: 125 x 102 cm
Very good conditions.
A regular certificate of authenticity and legitimate provenience is provided.
