Within a restrained palette of greys and blacks, Giuseppe Santomaso brings forth a red line, thin but sharp, like a cut. It seems to make the form bleed and to break the heavy silence of the composition. Around it, sharp black curves evoke barbed wire, suggesting a contained tension and a territory at once enclosed and vulnerable.
