This is an experimental analysis of the mental processes of perception. The nucleus is the same as in the previous image but the research, almost fifty years later, is much more complicated. The triangle is a geometrical form of great virtuality: it admits many variations of position and orientation. This virtuality is multiplied by the intervals between the black triangles: the blue background is continuous but is likewise modulated, necessarily, on the triangle.
The purpose of the research is to determine an image which is very ambiguous and therefore stimulating so as to compel the eye to move, to form different schemes of organization. Here again there is the passage from perception to imagination.
